I got an invite from my fishing buddy for many years “THE GENERAL” and we left dock around 4:30 looking for bass. We worked a normally good area on last 3 hours of the outgoing but could only find one bass, missed 2 others . We were throwing poppers…We decided to make a run to one of our favorite spots and there we found some hungry fish and landed another 11 on poppers….NOW these bass were not big by any stretch of imagination BUT they were angry when the hook stuck in them ,several came completely out of the water after the popper. Again nothing big …We were done by 7:30,,,It was interesting to note we never saw another boat . I would bet there were bigger fish around if we put on an eel but there is nothing like a bass on a popper

FISHING REPORT
Well ,got out on a Whale Creek pontoon boat Sunday with 3 grand kids under 5 along with their parents . Got little over an hour actual fishing before kids had enough…We did get 7 fluke with maybe 2 that were close to or little over 18″….No ruler so just stuck a yellow tag in them all for another day. Based on what I have been hearing from some decent fluke fishermen guess I should not complain..In any event it was nice to be back on water…This will be first year in last 63 years I did not have a boat in the water beginning in April t hrough Nov.
JUNE11TH
As mentioned before I sold my boat but have been checking reports and talking to fishermen I know on regular basis AND reports are not good .Legal fluke are very few and shorts nothing like years passed. Short bass are numerous in early morning and evening but the typical run of large bass that typically has taken place between 15th of May through end of June since to be absent…Few Bluefish still around but not the size of earlier.
I WOULD BE INTERESTED IN HEARING FROM ANYONE WHO HAS HAD BETTER REPORTS IN CORSON INLET AREA 10 MILES NORTH OR SOUTH
